I am an avid viewer and visitor of Scrap-it-Lah. I find their challenges quite interesting and thought stimulating.
This August, I am so happy to see the Philippines' very own Iris Uy, guest designing for the site. Well, the challenge is to create a layout with the following:
(1) stamping
(2) embossing
(3) misting
(4) dressing up a raw chipboard
Luckily, I had a layout (which I started in July but only finished today, haha!) that suits the requirement of this month's challenge. Here it is:
Stamping: See the words in the picture? Yes, it's Technique Tuesday's Favorite Memories by Ali Edwards.
Misting: I used Whipped Cream from Memories Mists.
Embossing and dressing up a raw chipboard: I got a wire dress form from Dusty Attic. Unfortunately, it didn't look good after heat embossing (I think I made it excessively and undesirably hot 'coz the paint and tinsel melted. For the record, it is my first time to heat emboss and I busted it up, LOL) so I just coated some portions with a Diamond Stickles. And whala! The crooked dress became a gorgeous frosted embellishment.
The papers, whimsies, fabric tickets and ribbons are all from Webster's Pages. Other materials: transparency - Teresa Collins; yellow flower, pearls and crystals - Prima; embossing tinsel and stickles - Ranger; pink ribbon - All About Scrapbooking; and punchers - Martha Stewart.
This is one of the best and my favorite among the LOs I've ever made. Why? Because,
> I've got to use my favorite brands
> I did not use any sketch
> I did not scraplift the design; and
> the subject is my everdearest daughter, Tien.
Love it!!!

Wacky
I came across with the site of Another freaking scrappy challenge and found this sketch:
The instruction says scrap something fun or humorous and I think I have the best picture for this challenge. All I have to do next is follow the sketch and here's my take on it:
The picture was taken during the Christmas Eve of 2010. My daughter Tien (in red) was playing with her nanny and I asked them to pose a little wacky at the count of three.
The DIY kites were perfect embellies. They add happiness to the layout. Plus the DIY clouds which I cut from a cardboard, painted with gesso and acrylic paint and finished with Judikins diamond glaze.
Another happy feeling are the houses and flowers on the left bottom part of the layout.
So here it is... a funny picture in a happy sketch.
I hope you like it. Thanks for dropping by!
Happy weekend!

A success!
In 2009, I was invited by my officemates to join the Sun Scrappers Club, an office based organization composed of creative, resourceful and talented ladies who are addicted to scrapbooking. I envy their projects, not to mention their collection of beautiful papers, embellies and tools. I couldn't imagine I'll be hooked into this hobby and love it more than my first obsession, the cross-stitching.
Early this year, my friend Dorothy invited me to join her in scrapbook session with the Philippines' best, Iris Uy. There I met amazing ladies who do not only share their talents and ideas during the session but also showcase their works of art through blogsites.
With the encouragement and support of my scrapping friends, I came to realize the need of having my own blogsite so that I could express myself more and join the online activities and challenges.
After two months of intermittent trials, I was able to come up with this site. Why SCRAPSY HEARTSY? Because "I heart scrapbooking"!
I'll be posting my layouts soon and I hope you will like them.
Thanks for dropping by! Have a nice week ahead!
