She's turning 5 y.o.

I discovered My Creative Sketches through Tomoko Takahashi (I am a big fan and avid follower of this very talented lady...).

In September 2011, My Creative Sketches posted another challenge which they called "Big Contest of 2011". 

Here are the rules:

* Winners will be judged on use of the sketch, originality and design.

* International entries are welcome but will be responsible for postage.

* Only 1 Layout per participant per sketch, per month.

* LOs  for this contest may "not" be used in any other Challenge or Contest.

* LOs must be newly made for this Contest.

* LOs must be "your" own original work.

* Upload the layout in their blog using the Link Tool.

* Use this sketch.

* 1st Months Contest begins Sept. 17 and Ends Oct. 17 (midnight est time USA).

* Winner will be announced around Oct.  20.

Webter's Pages (A Late Post)

This is a very late post.  But as saying goes, "It's better late than never...",   = )

In July, I attended a Webster's Pages class at Lasting Impression which was hosted by Iris Uy. 


The day was very fruitful.  I learned how to use alcohol ink and coarse pumice gel, and discovered a new product from Tattered Angels, the Glimmer Glam (hope this will be available in the Philippines soon). 

I was able to finish two of four layouts.  The other two were done at home because I only brought limited embellies during the class and I had a hard time choosing the best pictures for the remaining layouts.

Move it baby! Sketchabilities No. 54

Hello there!

I got the chance to visit the site of Sketchabilities and I found this sketch.

It is so nice! 

However, instead of following the original sketch, I reversed the position of each details or flipped the page horizontally so it would fit the picture. 

Mr. Mojo was with me so I finished it quickly.  Here's the result...

Instead of circles, I used doily and flowers to make the page more feminine.  Besides, my daughter personally picked the embellies she like (I gave in 'coz she's the subject anyway), LOL!

Instead of using a paper as base of the picture, I made use of clear granular gel to frame it then finished with a pink perfect pearls.

I also use the clear granular gel with this cage before I painted it with a gold acrylic.

The doily served as a mask.

Beauty

I am an avid viewer and visitor of Scrap-it-Lah.  I find their challenges quite interesting and thought stimulating.

This August, I am so happy to see the Philippines' very own Iris Uy, guest designing for the site.  Well, the challenge is to create a layout with the following:

(1)  stamping
(2)  embossing
(3)  misting
(4)  dressing up a raw chipboard

Luckily, I had a layout (which I started in July but only finished today, haha!) that suits the requirement of this month's challenge.  Here it is:

Stamping:  See the words in the picture?  Yes, it's Technique Tuesday's Favorite Memories by Ali Edwards.

Misting:  I used Whipped Cream from Memories Mists.

Embossing and dressing up a raw chipboard:  I got a wire dress form from Dusty Attic.  Unfortunately, it didn't look good after heat embossing (I think I made it excessively and undesirably hot 'coz the paint and tinsel melted.  For the record, it is my first time to heat emboss and I busted it up, LOL) so I just coated some portions with a Diamond Stickles.  And whala!  The crooked dress became a gorgeous frosted embellishment.

The papers, whimsies, fabric tickets and ribbons are all from Webster's Pages.  Other materials:  transparency - Teresa Collins; yellow flower, pearls and crystals - Prima; embossing tinsel and stickles - Ranger; pink ribbon - All About Scrapbooking; and punchers - Martha Stewart.

This is one of the best and my favorite among the LOs I've ever made.  Why?  Because,

> I did not use any sketch
> I did not scraplift the design; and
> the subject is my everdearest daughter, Tien.
